SQL server 2000 linked table

Hi to all,
I have a problem with linked table to SQL server 2000 database.

I use Access to consolidate multiple soucre of data (Access, SQL server, txt
files) and report it with Excel Pivot Table.

In an Access database I have several tables linked to SQL server database
and other sources file.

In Access environment I can open the linked table and I can see all rows.

If I try to connect via Excel Pivot Table (or Ms Query) I have the
underlined messsage error:

ODBC drive: connection to "database name" failed.

Have you any idea about it.

Thanks in advance

Massi

hi,
you may be experienceing problem if you are trying to
collect to the sql server direct.
if access is already linked to the server, then use MS
query to link to the access linked server table.
solved alot of problems for me.
Regards
Frank
