SQL 2000

Geoff

We have a VB.NET desktop app which is installed on 20 workstations and
connects to a SQL 2000 database on a std W2K3 domain. Recently we have
started randomly reciving the following errors:-

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When
connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that
under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.

There are no remote connections and we are not running SQL 2005?

Any help would be appreciated.

Geoff,

In my idea are you giving much to few information to make any answer
possible.

It sounds in an analogy like I was always going to Newark but now the metro
brings me too the Place d'Italy

However, try it with a better description in the newsgroup
Microsoft.public.AdoNet.framework

And shows at least the connection string that you use were you have changed
the Server Name and eventually the usernames and passwords to something that
doesn't exist.
