MS Antispyware is finding no issues on my machine, yet I
run Spyware Stormer and it claims to have found 165
infections! Are these real?

Bob;
What are they?

Bob!

Well, now it is saying there are 284 infections, and you
are right, most of them are "tracking cookies".

The items that are not cookies are:

EUniverse c:\program files\earthlink totalaccess
Bonzi Buddy c:\program files\audiogalaxy satellite
Unknown Spyware c:\windows\UpdReg.exe
Unknown Spyware c:\..\Earthlink totalAccess\taskpnl.exe

AudioGalaxy is the only one which is questionable and I
doubt it is Bonzi Buddy - my understanding is that as a
result of a settlement with the recording industry they
were essentially out of business anyway. They used to
install VX2 as part of their package but it is claimed
they cleaned up their act.

http://www.infoanarchy.org/story/2002/1/24/1761/25534

" AudioGalaxy has apparently bundled an especially
egregious spyware package with past versions of its Win32
MP3 sharing client. "To save you the time and trouble of
submitting such information to us yourself", the package
called VX2 collects data from online forms you submit (but
don't worry, they "have undertaken technical measures to
make sure that VX2 never collects credit card numbers,
account numbers or passwords") and even terms you enter in
search engines. AudioGalaxy has in the past included
various spyware packages (including one called webHancer,
which trashed whole Windows installations under certain
circumstances -- at that point we stopped reporting about
their software) and currently admits to bundling the
ominous Gator and eAccelerator packages, both of which
allegedly can be opted out safely. VX2 is no longer
included in recent versions, but you should check your
system for VX2.DLL to make sure you haven't been infected
by this trojan. AudioGalaxy's response to concerns about
VX2 can, at best, be described as clueless. "
