SpyDefense

SpyDefense is a spyware, adware and malware scanner that inspects your
file system, registry and memory for any present threats. It offers 3
different scan modes, including a custom scan option as well as
Real-Time protection that can alert you when any malware is about to be
installed and optionally block the installation. Other features include
a scheduled scan option, automatic updates and scan history report. The
program detected several false positives during our review, and would
have removed Norton anti-virus signature files since it considered them
to be of Trojan nature. SpyDefense is still in beta testing. It offers
a promising array of features but so far lacks reliable detection and
is not recommended as a primary choice of
protection.(((http://www.snapfiles.com/get/spydefense.html

Snapfiles doesn't rate this program very highly (2.5 out of 5). The
homepage is here:

The user reviews seem favorable, but I don't know what kind of mechanism
is in place to prevent padding.

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett or Doc (who uses sock puppets)
for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial software, crippleware,
demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware, spyware, time-limited
software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

point to start with when it comes to freeware.I always read all the
reviews.Again its new and might end up being one of the better ones.

There are still some of us, myself being one, that still use Win98SE.
Since this application is not made for Win98SE, I thought it nice to
let those users know about it. No malice intended.
