Splitting a page in FP 2002

I have a page on my web site that's become too slow to load, due no doubt to
the number of big pix on that page. One solution would be to reduce the byte
size of each of those pix, but what I'd prefer to do is divide the page in
half, moving the lower half to a new page. What's the easiest way of doing
the latter in FP 2002?

Create a new blank page and move stuff to it, then create a link from page A
to page B.
If your pix are big...recommend optimizing them to get file size down.

What's the URL?

Save the page under a new name, then open the original page and remove content and then do the same
for the new page you created.

Save the page with a new name. Eliminate the bottom half of the first page
and the top half of the second page. Link to the second page from the first.
That way you've saved all the navigation stuff etc.

holy cow.
images WAY too big...over 300K each. You can easily get those images down to
abt 20k without visible loss.

Download IrFanview (http://www.irfanview.com) it's free and you can
optimize, resize, rename (batch them all if you want) easily.

You may also want to consider resizing them narrower. As it stands now they
are over 300px wide which gives you over 900px wide page (three across)
which will make most viewers have to scroll left/right to view them. Or
consider a different layout.

You'll have to process them outside of your FP web, then Import them back in
then place them in your design again (remove them from the existing design
then replace them)...then Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks...particularly if
you keep the image file names the same. If you keep the file names the same
when you save after import let FP overwrite the existing image files if you
are prompted.

I'm working on your suggested fixes, but in the process ran into another
prob. When I try to drag a page from the folder file to the nav structure, it
won't drag. Instead I get a circle with a backslant inside it as I try to
move the file into the nav structure.

A page can only appear once in the navigation structure.

Got most of my probs resolved. Still need to optimize the pix, but at least I
have the org structure modified such that the loading time is faster for each
page. Will work on the optimization later. Thanx!
