Hi,
I have Word 2002, and have been using it for quite a while, so am not
"new" to it, but something new has just started happening, that's for sure!
A couple weeks ago, speech recognition got turned on, but not by anyone who
uses the computer. I opened a document and started to input info in the form
fields, and suddenly a whole row of ...........'s popped up and then changed
to words. They seemed random at first, but as I backspaced, they would just
appear again and new words would pop up making sort of a sentence. After
some trouble-shooting, I found that speech recognition was on. I turned it
off and continued with what I was doing.
No big deal, right? Well, I can't seem to keep it turned off! Every time
I restart the computer, either in Outlook Express or Word, I get the same
auto typing. (different words) I have to go and disable speech recognition
all over again. It almost seems like something has hijacked it. I speak into
the mic, but NOTHING I say is typed, however other seemingly random, to not
random, stuff is typed. At one point a sentence having to do with Iraq,
popped up, but I was too quick with the backspace, and have no idea what was
typed.
Soooo, any ideas? I'm out of 'em! Thanks!
