Special text character problem

I am a new Excel user. A text table has been created in Quattro Pro X3 but
due to formatting problems when publishing to pdf it has been imported to
Excel 2007. Some special symbols do not translate. Can superscript
encircled 1, 2, 3 etc. call-out symbols similar to the registered and
copyright symbols be created as in WordPerfect? Is there some other method
that can be used?
