Spec Required For Vista

S

Samuel Shulman

I am now looking for a new laptop and I wonder if anyone can advice me what
would be a good spec that will handle properly Windows Vista

Is a 64 chip is considerably better then 42

How much memory is required to keep the system running fast?

Is 1 GB enough

Thank you,
Samuel

1Gb is enough memory. I have 1Gb in my Acer laptop and it runs fine. I
have no Aero though but that is down to the lack of graphics drivers.
You should wait a month as you will start to see laptops sold preinstalled
with Vista then you know that it is Vista Ready.

Well, I would probably say, and maybe I'm going out on a limb here, so bear
with me, but.... yes, I bet that 64 is better than 42. It's also better
than a 37, a 163, and much better than an 11.

:)

Ok, typos are only funny once... sorry...

I have a 64-bit and it works fine. HP nx6325. And 2GB runs fine, but 1GB
was dog-slow.

When the prices come down I'll go for 2 x 2GB modules and hope to see more
improvement.

So, yes. Go 64-bit and start with 2GB.

Hope this helps.
