Spacing between paragraphs

In Word, I am using double spacing, 1st line indention under
Format/Paragraph. I keep getting 4 spaces between paragraphs instead of
double space. How do I correct the problem. Oh, if you are going to tell me
to check the box that says "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same
style", I can't because it is faded and will not allow me to click on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Under Paragraph, Indents and Spacing tab (in the "format paragraph" area),
your "Spacing Before" and "Spacing After" should be set to zero in both
instances. Check to see that this is so.

What are your Spacing Before: and After: settings (also in
Format/Paragraph)? If either is set to 12 points, you will get the effect
you're observing.

A reverse twist on the other posts... If you are using double-spaced lines &
pressing Enter _twice_ at the end of a paragraph, that is the explaination.
You might want to adjust the Spacing Before and/or After paras to what you
need and just use Enter _once_ at the end of a para.
