SP4 will not install over web

I get an error message that I can not connect to windows
website to install service pack 4. Click retry and a
second error message says if problem continues to access
Windows Service Pack website and click on "Problems
downloading the service pack". This is suppose to allow a
full download of the SP4 without using the web for an
install. I can not find this website or any other that
has this download.

I'm having the same problem. And, i'm trying to load the
worm patch which tells me I have to have SP4 installed
first. So, I'm in a terrible loop!

okay... microsoft, are you listening? several people are
getting the same problem. it's been going on all day.

Pfff!!! Exactly the same problem here... this is terrible... and I read
something about the worm taking down windows update on the 16th, so I'm
trying to get the service pack before that date...

Won't SP2 or SP3 be sufficient to allow for the patch to be installed
though? Do we really need SP4 to install it? Reading the initial post in
this thread, it seems like yes, but I'm just making sure...

I have been getting the same message for weeks now. I
can't figure out why it won't connect to the server during
the SP4 installation. Any ideas?

problem. I've sent an e-mail to the help desk - I'll let
you know if any help actually arrives.
