Using Office XP (2002) on Win 98 (not SE). User wants to use WORD as
Outlook's e-mail editor. Clicking "New" produces "Starting Word as your
e-mail editor" which hangs for about a minute and then generates a message
"This form requires Word as you e-mail editor but Word is either busy or
cannot be found." I've applied the suggested registry deletions as
recommended in KB319796, and then "Repaired" Office. Did not solve the
problem.
It seems this problem surfaced after applying SP3. FYI, if you open and
then close Word separately from its own shortcut, and then click "New" in
Outlook, Word loads instantly as the editor.
Any idea how to help Outlook find Word?
Thanks
