SP2 Firewall

Once SP2 was installed and I tried to use a program like
MSN Messenger or yahoo messenger, it came up and asked me
to block, allow this time, or always allow. I checked
always allow. But have been thinking that this left a
port always open even when I was not useing them. So I
went to firewall in control panel and uncheck the ones
for MSN and Yahoo and clicked OK. But when I use them now
there is no warning coming up asking me to allow this.
What can I do to resolve this? Thanks

Never mind, I figure it out on my own. I had the 2
messenger services uncheck but then I had to set it back
to the default, the way it was set up when it was
installed and it worked. Sorry for taking up space here
when I figured it out myself.
