SP2 Firewall

The ICF for XP (SP1) is not intended for networked computers. Therefore I
don't use it on my home network. Will the firewall capabilities provided by
SP2 allow networked users to run it?

The control Panel applet for the new Windows Firewall has an Advanced
page where you can uncheck it for your LAN connection, leaving it on for
the Internet one

On my systems here, which are networked and had shared drives BEFORE SP2
was installed, file and printer sharing was unblocked in the firewall by
default. I'm not sure if this is automatic in all cases, or if it looks
at whether file and printer sharing is installed, and/or whether any
drives are shared, during the installation and tries to make an
"intelligent" decision. But, in our case, everything just worked with
no modifications to the default setup required.

I'm very impressed by this Service Pack, so far. It's as good as
Windows ME was bad.
