SP2 firewall "non-domain settings"

Hi

I have a problem with the SP2 firewall settings. I have an win2k3
domain and I installed the SP2 onto one of the XP PRO client PC.
Created a domain policy which is set the firewall to my requirements.
Especially, for domain profile I have turned off the firewall and for
non-domain profile turned on. So I created the GPO and enabléed the
firewall service. I have made a test OU with one PC. The domain policy
is applied on the test PC but when I run the Start/Settings/Control
Panel/Windows Firewall it said "Windows Firewall is using your
NON-DOMAIN settings" BUT this PC is in a domain.

I have set in the policy when the PC starts wait for Network.
And I also set Spanning-tree port fast on the LAN port.
I set the switch/NIC ports to AUTO/100-full but neither worked.

Could you please help me I have no any idea!

Thanks in advance!

compare the dns suffix for the PC with that of the AD that gives it group
policy. If they don't match, then the system does not believe it is actually
on the domain that gave it its policy so switches into the Standard profile.

I also have this problem, with precisely the same description. My domain
suffix matches the logon domain and I appear to be logged on to the domain by
every indication other than that the Firewall states "Windows Firewall is
using your non-domain settings".

hi Eric,

finnally managed to get the solution. The NLA service should be started
and this problem is solved. so you"d try to start the NLA service.
