sp2 and internet explorer

Downloaded SP2 since then have had intenet connection problems .I have been
in touch with my ISP they say it is because of my NORTON FIREWALL
conflicting with the SP2 FIREWALL, I have since turned off my NORTON but
connection to the internet is very slow ( I have broadband ). can any one
help ?

I would turn off windows firewall as it is a one way firewall and use Norton
firewall as it is a two way firewall.
