SP2 and downloading certain files

Myles Bauer

I recently upgrade my XP home machine to SP2, everything works fine except
when I download certain files I have problems. For example, I have
stardocks windowblinds and when I download new skins that are zip files on
wincustomize.com they used to open and install automatically. Now they just
download and I have to unzip them manually. BTW I use winzip 9.0 not XP's
native zip support. Also for my sons game, Call of Duty the custom map
files (in pk3 format) will download and save only as zip files. Any
settings that you would know of that I can change.

Thanks,
Myles

How did you manage to get SP 2?
LOL
I'm waiting on it and nothing yet...
I turned on the "new" automatic updates and since last
night I have that stupid globe sitting in my tray by the
clock that says "downloading updates 0%"
Ughhh

The full version of SP2 has been available on the Microsoft website for some
time. You may use that instead of waiting for it via Automatic Updates,
although the file is rather large (266MB).
