SP1a will not install

Ted Campanelli

I recently formatted my HD and reloaded Windows XP Home.
Everything seems to be working properly (Windows and
programs). The next day I went to the UpDate site and
tried to install SP1a. It keep stopping with a message
"steup error installation cancelled". I previously had SP1
installed and had no problem with the installation.

I have tried/done the following:

Run AdAware to remove any possible spyware.

Run Norton's Anti Virus (with the latest updates)to remove
any possible virus (came up clean).

Tried disabling everything in the systray.

Tried going through msconfig for a "clean boot"

D/L the file from Microsoft and another site (incase the
Microsoft got corrupted in D/L)

It still will not install. Where do I go from here ? Can
I D/L a copy of SP1 ? Can someone tell me how to get SP1a
to install ?

If you could respond to my email it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ted
