After installing SP1, every singe time I close an Office 2007 application, it
crashes then starts up again with a blank screen.

I have:
**Uninstalled SP1 twice
**Installed Office 2007 twice
**Run Office diagnostics that tells me to repair Office
**Ensured all windows patches are current
**Ensurred all MS Office 2007 patches/upgrades installed
**Talked really nice to it.

Help me! Help me please!!!!!

Using your computer, visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/
and click on "Validate Office" to check if you have a genuine version
of Microsoft Office.

Did you have an earlier version of Office before Office 2007? I had
Office XP Pro, got the same crashes - and offers (suggestions) to upgrade.

Make sure you have uninstalled all earlier versions of office.

My crash problems are now less- they occur when calling an excel file
from Powerpoint. When I exit the excel (to get back to the Powerpoint
presentation), Powerpoint complains and crashes.

And NO, I have not done all the things you have done (install,
uninstall, talk to it...). But I did validate both products. (That last
suggestion is a non-sequitur, the last resort of MS traditionalists.)

Are you sure this problem started with SP1? I'd look further back.

Bought the laptop with Vista Home Premium and MS Office 2007 is the only
version ever installed on it.

Just so that you will know that you are not alone, I am having the exact
same problem.

And just that you will know - it has nothing to do with 'validation'
issues of genuine MS products. It has to do with the incompatibility
between the left hand and the right hand of Microsoft (God forbid the
MVPs here admit to such possibilities.)

My only suggestion - did you have an earlier version of Office installed
also (e.g. Office XP, or Office 2003?). The problems there were worse.
Make sure they are thoroughly purged.
