soundblaster audigy2 zs

tom

I have this soundcard, and it is causing my computer to
crash when I play call of duty united offensive. I am
using direcx 9.0c which is the latest ver.
Any ideas on a configuration I can use to eliminate this
from happening. The head set starts to crack, pop, and
hiss...the the whole computer locks up.
I am not using eax settings on call of duty...just its
typical optimal settings. The only thing changed on
optimal settings is the video was bumped from 600x800 to
1024, which wouldnt cause the game to crash and burn.
Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom,

Try a different driver for that card, and also run a diagnostic
by clicking Start / Run / and then type: dxdiag

After you try those sound tests, turn down the acceleration
a few notches and then test your game. I hope that helps.

Go to the Creative website (www.creative.com) and get the updates for the
card drivers.... you can use the AutoDetect feature and it will only
download the drivers that you need.

I have the same version of the card, and used the CD to install JUST the
driver package.... then got the updates from Creative. DirectX9c doesn't
seem to have any problems with it, nor do any other games, but I don't have
Call of Duty.
