Sound

G'day

I use a toshiba Tecra M2 with XP Pro SP2, since reinstalling XP with the
recovery disk, my sounds are either no existent or very fient. I've gone
into the audio properties and turned everything up and made sure the mute is
not on. I've also gone through Sounds and Device Properties and turned all
volume controls to max, ensured the speaker settings are on 'notebook stereo'
and turned up the volume there. Some video clips are very feint, music files
are barely audible and default notification sounds cant be heard. Any
suggestions?
Thanks you

G'day Hardik

After looking for driver updates as you suggested, with no luck, my 10 yr
old alerted me to th evolume control at the front of the lappy!!!! Clearly
it is a master control and not just for headphones......to say I feel a bit
of a goose is an understatement. Thanks for taking the time to suggest help
and sorry for wasting it! I guess the easy out would have been to post that
your suggestion fixed the problem but I guess its helpful for the other
gooses out there to learn from my own ignorance!
