Sound problem

I have an HP Pavilion 475c running Windows XP Home. I have been having
problems with the sound. I have sound card integrated with the
Motherboard. When I am playing a CD and send an email, the sound breaks
up. I bought a Creative sound card, disabled the built in sound card and
then installed the new PCI Card. I still get the broken up sound when
sending emails, has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks
Terry

How much RAM do you have?

How many "services" are running, email scan, other software
taking cycles?

HP is often stingy with PSU, you might have low power.

Other than that, I'm at a loss.

Try moving the cards to different slots so that the audio and modem are
on different interrupts.

Jack, I get the same results when running one or several. I just got a
breaking of sound in Musicmatch, while deleting several Outlook Express
messages. I will write Creative and see what they say.

Thanks a bunc for your help.

Robert,

That worked or seems to work, sent test file and deleted a bunch of
messages.

Appreciate the help!
