Sound isn't working in MSN messenger

I can't figure out why. It is MSN messenger 6. I have
Sound Blaster Live value, but I have the newest driver.
No sound problems are found according to the diagnostic.
I also tried restarting the PC and reinstalling MSN.
Doesn't work.

Sometimes the sounds work but they disappear at some
point. I also changed the sounds to custom sounds, and
they worked at first, but they stopped working. I think
after I listened to an audio stream it stopped working.
But no matter what I try, I can't get MSN sounds to work,
and the main problem seems to be MSN, cause sound is
working everywhere else.

What can I try?

Well, I thought I fixed the sounds, because I over writed
the default sounds. So I did system restore and got them
back, and made the new sounds as a new sound scheme, and
they were working! That is until I decided to listen to
an audio stream - which made them stop working again.
Can anyone tell me why this happens and how to fix it?
