sound is not working...

Hello!

Yesterday, I was listening to music on my laptop through earphones,
when the sound cut out in my left ear. Thinking it was something wrong
with my earphones, I tried unplugging them and replugging them into the
sound jack. Eventually, the sound on my laptop cut out entirely. Now,
no sound works on my laptop at all, regardless of whether speakers are
plugged in, I adjust the volume, etc. I'm assuming that there's a
problem with the sound card but I was wondering if you guys have any
suggestions...

Thanks!

Uninstall sound card dxriver.
Download the latest from the manufacturer and install it.

If that fails - likely is a bad sound card.

There seem to be an inordinate amount of sound problems lately. I've
experienced several 'no sound problems' with clients computers recently, and
installing sound card drivers did not fix the problem. I suspect an update
may be the culprit but haven't pinned it down yet.
