Sound Icon

B

Bob McConnell

Having trouble getting the sound icon to show in the task bar. I have it
checked to open in the sound system files and have been trying to use the
directions from Microsoft in their Knowledge Base Articles, 319095 which
states the Sndvol32.exe file might be damaged or missing. When I enter the
following
D:
cd i386
expand sndvol32.ex_c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe

I get a message telling me that I do not have a destination specified.
Any help much appreciated.,

Hi Bob,

You're missing a space, should be:

expand sndvol32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe

You were missing the space after ex_, might also try:

expand sndvol32.ex_ %windir%\system32\sndvol32.exe

(you need the space here as well)
