I would start in Device Manager>Sound, video and game controllers, double
click your sound device to check the status. If the device is not working
properly you can begin troubleshooting from there. If all is ok, go to
Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Manage Audio Devices. From there you can
check the status of and configure the speakers, volume, input and output
devices as well as Windows Sounds.

Hi Jim this is Shannon. I just had the same issue. All that information
above was awsome! However when I got to manage audio devices it said that I
have no audio devices installed. How crazy is that? One minute you have
sound, upgrade poof sound gone. Whats a gal to do Jim?
