Hello,

I am not getting any notification when a new outlook message arrives. I
have it set to play a sound. Other sounds on the computer are working. Also,
I thought there was supposed to be an envelope on the toolbar for new mail,
and there is not. Thanks for any help.

PS -- I do not think I have any special rules set up for the messages to go
anywhere other than the inbox. It is a home computer and not on any network.

Do you get the New Mail Desktop Alert when you get a new e-mail? Verify that
it is turned on by rightclicking the Outlook icon in the Notification Area.
Also if you see a < on the left border of the Notification Area press it to
expand it. Do you see the new mail envelope?

There is a gold square box there with a circle inside, I guess like a clock.
It does not look really like an envelope. When I right click it, there is a
check mark next to show new mail desktop alert. Marian

So you got the Sound, the Envelope and New Mail Destop Alert for just one
message?

Note that it only works for messages that don't get moved to another folder
by a rule and only for messages that are received during an automatic
send/receive.

Also; for how long do you get this behavior already?
