Sound Card Trouble.

I have a CISNET PC, running Windows XP on Pentium 4 3GHz 512MB RAM,
with a onboard sound card, a Logitech QuickCam, want to go Live
Messenger to do some online conference.

I can hear the other party's voice, I can speak to my MIC and hear my
voice on my PC, but the other party can not hear me.

The sound control software is AC 97 Audio, and I have tried almost
every possible configuration with it. Still I can not make the other
party hear my voice.

I guess this may be due to the sound card is not full duplex?

Any idea? Thx.

Nope ... It's obviously a software or configuration problem.
Exactly which and where, I'm not so sure.

Did you try downloading the latest AC97 drivers?

Is this one okay?

VIA AC97 audio driver package 6.80b

This seems to be the latest one. Will try this first later.

Or, do you think there should be anything new?

Thx.

Um ... While 6.80B seems to be the latest drivers listed by VIA, you
might try the AC97 drivers from Realtek

Looking on the net, the latest AC97 drivers from Realtek are version
A4.00
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/ac97.html

Not sure which would be best for your particular machine.
