sound card problem...no sound

hi everyone...im having a problem with my sound card.It is a VIA AC'97 Audio
Controller (WDM) sound card.My computer detects my card but my sound doesnt
work.Ive tried reinstalling it,updating the drivers and rolling back the
drivers.If anyone could help me with my probalem it would be very
appreciated. Many thanks in advance

Did it ever work? Have you tried a different sound card? What changed
between the time it worked and when it didn't?
