Sound Blaster with Windows XP

Since installing Windows XP in my pc, my Boston speaker
system doesn't work. I have a 16 bit Creative Lab Sound
Blaster Live Value card. I've physically removed it and
reinstalled it. I've downloaded the latest drivers from
Creative Labs but when I try to install them, Windows says
my current drivers are just as good. When I go into
Control Panel to check the operation of my Sound Blaster
card, the system reports that it is working properly.
I've checked all my cable connections and they're ok. The
LEDs on the speaker components light properly. Is there
something about Windows XP that is preventing my sound
system from working?

Have you disabled the AC97 or similiar in the BIOS.
If not,you must,also R.click the on-board sound in device mgr,uninstall,uninstall
all sound blaster software, drivers, then restart computer. On desktop, open windows
update, use thier drivers for sound blaster. You can always add creative, but for
many windows update drivers alone give more volume, less software issues, how much
do you gain useing creatives software. Were talking pc sounds out of a computer, average
at best even with great speakers.
