Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - driver problem!

BEN

Hi, I have just downloaded & updated my sound card driver
for the first time and my pc has developed a problem.

The driver update went quite smoothly - during the
installation it asked me for a file (CTgame .sys) which I
found on my Audigy 2 installation CD, and everything seems
to be working ok, but.......now my PC takes around 1 min
30 seconds to boot! :(, when it only took around 25
seconds to boot my machine before!

I was just wondering if anyone knows why this "EAX 4.0
ADVANCED HD Driver Update for Creative Sound Blaster
Audigy 2_Audigy 2 ZS", has now made my PC take so long to
boot up?

The actuall update and installation seems to be working
fine, so I do not think that un-installing it and then re-
installing will make any difference!...

but, as I was'nt promted to un-install the old driver, I
just put this new one over the top. (It came in a self-
extracting executable file) I hope this is not the cause
of this slow boot-up problem? This is the first time I
have updated my sound card driver you see!

There might be something in the the startup that is making
the boot time take so long , but I cannot identify it.

Any advise on resolving this problem, in as much detail as
possible, would be really helpful.

Many thanks.

Ben

The new driver probably put a couple of programs in your start menu and thus
increased the time for your operating system to load. Go to run and type
msconfig , go to startup tab and under the listing you will find the
programs. These programs most likely do not have to be on the startup menu
for everything to work properly. Jym

it came in with the update from creative as a critical files for the "Creative SoundFont Bank Manager Web Update ver 1.00.21"
i try to unistalled but it leaves this file behind. how can i take this driver off and put in my old one?
