Sorting labels alpabetically from 3 column page (Avery 5160)

I have set up a page of labels using the Avery label
template 5160. There are 3 columns of 10 groups, 30
labels per page. Now I want to sort these so they are
alphabetical from a to z. I am used to WordPerfect which
does this with such ease. Word must be able to do this
somehow? Do I need to convert it to another form?

Word labels are set up as a table, and you can sort on only one column at a
time. You can convert the labels to text, sort them, then convert back to a
table, but you'd be much better off converting them to a mail merge data
source (which can be sorted as needed), then creating the labels as a mail
merge. See
