Sorting by 'From' field in Inbox not working for all recipients

We have Exchange 2003 SP1 and Outlook 2003 running in our environment. One
user has recently been experiencing a problem when they try and sort by a
users name in their Inbox. For some contact they select an individuals name,
click the FROM column and the Outlook groups emails in the Inbox by that user
and the email used to sort by is still highlighted.

For other contacts, when the user selects the name and clicks the From
field, Outlook groups emails by name, but puts the users Inbox at the first
email grouping in alphabetical order instead of taking the user to the
inidivual contact they were sorting by.

Works on some contacts and not others. It does not matter whether this
contact is listed in the Global address list or users local address list.
this behavior occurs for contacts that are on one of the lists and for
contacts not in any list, both internal and external.

Any thoughts?

We are experiencing the exact same thing. you are not alone 1jacksors.
I too look forward to any answers to this. Also, I am continuing to
test and fart around with this issue. If I find a solution I will let
you know.

To proactively answer any questions going through anybody's mind, I
have answered some questions that I would ask if I was trying to answer
the question:

- Yes, the pc was rebooted, is plugged in and is turned on.

But more seriously:

- It doesn't matter whether the person the email was received from is
on the global mailbox or not I just chose the emails at random for each
senario.
- I removed all the fields (except the flag) and put them back on
- I tried using different combinations of fields
- It starts to work at random times, after doing different things, but
as soon as we close Outlook and open it again, the problem comes back
- No, as far as we know, nobody else is experiencing the same problem
- I can't find any patterns at all. I even went as far as comparing
the different groups people belonged to from emails of people who work
in this office
- We created a new email profile and it still does the same thing
- Since this is happening on his PC and on my laptop (logged in with
his profile) re-imaging his pc would be useless. (and to add, we don't
have roaming profiles)
- Detect and repair of outlook didn't repair anything
- Removed the sort order and then tried again, still the same thing

Thoughts please?
