Sort Favorites?

I know I can sort Favorites -- one miserable folder at a time -- but I
wonder if anybody knows of a more efficient way to keep favorites and their
folders sorted? A registry hack? A utility? I open Favorites in the task
pane frequently and there is no way to sort anything when using the task
pane.

Offhand, I can't think of a way to keep them sorted but you could set
up a .reg file and delete the Registry key in a flash.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Favorites

Which would result in all the favorites and folders all being sorted
next time you start IE.
You would have to do it whenever you wanted the lot sorted again.

Hi clinton :)

Here's a couple of things you might try:

Sort favorites automatically on-the-fly (Windows 2000/XP)
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/IEFAQ.htm

or.........

FavOrg - Free Utility
http://www.gratilog.net/anglais/internet/favorg.zip

or Version 1.2 here:

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

I looked into the registry. I see what you mean now. Thanks for the tip. I
see other response referring to solutions and I may be able to use my
emerging .NET Framework development skills to create a RegistryKeyWhacker.

The registry mod [1] you referred to works like a charm :)
Thanks again Jan.
