sort contacts by category and email list to someone

I have assigned categories to my Outlook contacts and wish to sort them by a
category and email that list to someone. When I select "by category" it
indicates that no categories have been selected and can't be sorted by that
unit

Category sort is meaningless and impossible, since any contact may be listed
under multiple categories.
Why wouldn't you just use the "By Category" view to group by Category?

Freda,

Since I do a lot of sharing of contacts (I am the information junkie at my
job). I have found the easiest way is to export the contact to an excel file
and then email and import them into the other computer under the File menu,
Import Export function.

I am sure that most people here know far more than me but that is what I
have found to be the quickest and easiest way to move my 6839 contacts around.

Hope this helps! :)

The quickest and most reliable would be to transport the contacts in a PST,
not by exporting and reimporting, which will lose data.
