Sony VAIO - PCMCIA USB 2.0 Problem

Hi All, Glad to be here!

I bought a Sum-E-Vision PCMCIA 4-Port USB2.0 Cardbus for my Sony Vaio
PCG-FX501, I installed it and Windows (XP) recognises that the PCMCIA
USB is in, but it doesn't recognise what I plug into those USB ports
(such as Flash Drive etc.), it just doesn't recognise that they are
plugged into it - I've tried scan for hardware changes, and that
doesn't make a difference. Please help ASAP, as I really need the use
of these ports (yes, there were 2 already on the laptop, but they are
broke and wouldn't be able to be fixed easily)... I want to be able to
use my Flash Drive, Scanner, and especially (when I get it - as it only
has USB connectivity) the ADSL modem that I will get when I sign up for
the internet. So, like I said - please help me ASAP!!!!

Thanks

- Mattitude

Just to be sure, did you check for the new drives in Disk Management?
Sometimes XP assigns flash drives a letter that is already in use by some
other device. If the drive shows up in Disk Management, you can change the
drive letter there to something unique. If it's not showing up in Disk
Management, that's a problem that I can't help you with.
