sony external dvd rw

hi folks
i have a sony dvd rw burner dru-510a model number
it is supposed to be usb 2 compliant
i can't get it working with the usb2 card i have bought
and installed.

when i plug it into the pc's onboard usb1.1 it detects the
drive straight away and works fine but very slow.
when i plug the drive into the usb2 card nothing.
the card appears to be working as i can plug a
disgo key (flash card)in it and it detects the key as
being usb2 compliant
i have had other devices on the usb2 card and they
have worked ok
anyone any ideas

That is very odd. Have you tried changin the slot your USB2.0 card is in
and then plug it in again? There is no reason it should have that problem.
