Sony/Ericsson cellphone willnot sync with Outlook

Good morning and thank you for reading my post. I've tried contacting
Sony/Ericsson concerning a problem I have during the initial setup for
sync'ing my phone to my computer, I'm hoping someone here can help.
I just purchased a SonyEricsson W600 cellphone, while going through the
initial setup a dropdown asks if I want to use MS Outlook Express for
contacts/email, this is the only choice given. I would prefer using MS
Outlook (which is installed on my computer along with WinXP sp2 and MS
Office2003), but there is no way to get this into the drop down list. S.E.'s
support has suggested Control Panel>Internet Options>Programs to make sure
Outlook is the default (it was). They also suggested downloading the newest
software from their website (which I did)...no help. Finally they suggested I
delete Outlook express from my computer (which I did)...nothing!
Would anyone have any suggestions on how to allow the Sony/Ericsson software
to see and allow me to use Outlook as my default calendar/contact mrg./email?

In order to verify that Outlook is indeed your default client for mail, etc.,
open it with the /checkclient switch. For quick instruction on how to use an
