Sometimes I have no new email when new email notification is recei

I looked in the knowledgebase and found article 281047 regarding rule moving
new email to another folder, but that is not the case here. The new email
notification envelope stays in the lower right-hand corner and when a new
email does come in, two envelopes show until I read the new one.

And if you hover over the constant one, it doesn't disappear? When happens
if you double-click it? What if you right-click the Notification Area
(where the extra icon resides) and choose Customize Notifications? Do you
see two envelopes listed there? Are they both labeled the same? What are
the behavior settings for them?
