Sometimes can't get cursor to the password box on XP logon screen

Recently I have had this problem daily: On the user logon screen mouse
works right, and clicking the user icon or name WILL bring up the text
box, but WITHOUT cursor. Loggin on to account w/o password works
properly, as well as pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL twice and logging in via the
Win 2000 -style logon box.

When logged on textboxes work normally.

Hi Jarno,

See if the following command fixes the problem. Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 shgina.dll
