Something like livemeeting or webex but simpler and FREE!???

I can recall once (it was a loong time ago, 1999 I think) I used WEBEX that
enabled you to do a remote desktop or VNC like function (vew desktop live)
(I did this to assist someone). The good thing with this was that it did not
need special ports and port forwarding like R. Assistance, RDP or VNC.
It only loaded an activex thing.

However this webex is not free, it has a trial...

does anyone know of any other solution similar.. I am not interested in
meetings
and training .. only One-to- one remote desktop like assistance...

I have a friend I want to help but I cant make VNC or RDP or anything else
to work,
even though I have tried port forwarding ect.. (on her side of course.. its
not my end that has
the problem.)

so I want a simple web service? Or other tool?

Any ideas?

I know the frustration well. I now use UltraVNC SC. The SC is for
single click and it does a reverse connection so it should work with
nearly all SoHo routers.

Works best if you have dynamic DNS, but the SC forum has a link to
another free utility that let's you compile 'on the fly'.

This has always worked with friends' and familys' systems (mixed
blessing). I upload the .exe my web site and have them download it.
If their browser isn't working then I zip it and e-mail it to them.

Sure. You may want to look at the UVNC forums, there is one
specifically for SC with several "how to's".
