some stats

Here are some stats related to my earlier post.

I did a count on answered vs. unanswered questions for
the first five pages of this forum. As you go back
further, the response rate gets a little better as you
would expect, but not by much. Compared to other non-
Microsoft forums the response rate is quite abysmal.

page 1: 9 answered 16 unanswered
page 2: 12 answered 13 unanswered
page 3: 9 answered 16 unanswered
page 4: 13 answered 12 unanswered
page 5: 12 answered 13 unanswered

Total: 55 answered 70 unanswered

Good stats PapaJohn. I'm curious - is Microsoft aware of
these numbers and if so do they see this as problematic?
I clearly over-estimated the low response rate, but this
is still extremely low compared to other forums. Perhaps
Microsoft really doesn't care where people get their
problems solved as long as they don't bother Microsoft
with them.

I get the stats from Microsoft, who gave me the pointer to the website where
they are available.

If you are interested, I have a couple links on the Online... Newsgroups
page of my www.papajohn.org website.

Microsoft does compile and assess the statistics. How they perceive them - I
don't know. I'm not part of Microsoft. They are not obliged to answer posts,
so I would assume that a low response rate (whatever that is) would be
problematic.

Great site! MS is lucky to have you as a volunteer.
Thanks again for your replies. And I'm happy to have
improved the response rate for this forum - just doing my
part:)
