Some of my suggestions

Suggestions:
1- The real-time protection feature should be a little stronger, meaning,
when a program tries to modify the system, MSAS asks the user what to do.
But MSAS does not block the program until the user tells it to. This allows
the spyware/malware program to do it's damage. It should block the program
until the user gives an answer whether to block it or not.

2- There should be different levels of real-time protection, Normal, the way
it is now. High, asks the user every time a program is trying to make a
modification to the system. Custom, user defined what programs are OK to
modify the system, like a user defined exception list.

3- Scanning normal & Strict scan. Strict scan allows user to remove
programs user believes are spyware/malware.
Example: Weathercast, weather bug, etc. Normal scan is what a full scan is
now.

4- Cleanup interface, example: when resizing the window during a scan, MSAS
acts weird, it moves then stretches. Second when scrolling through the
threats and expand the threats the scroll bars are not aligned correctly.

5- In the advanced tools, system explorers, when selecting a system explorer
in the left task pane, the task pane closes then displays the information in
the right window. The left task pane should not close, so you can move
through the system explorers faster.

6- MSAS should also have the ability to detect when a program is trying to
modify the Windows Firewall settings, Windows Update Settings, & Security
Center Settings.

7- Try and increase the performance.

Did you try disabling QuickTime through MSCONFIG. Start > Run > type in
"msconfig" (without quotes), Startup (tab), under Startup Items uncheck
"qttask". Restart your system.

that is annoying too. Itunes does the same thing. You don't see Windows
Media Player dong this. :) If ms takes some of my suggestions it would be a
great program.

When you run the program again (quicktime) it will add it self back to the
startup, just like realplayer, itunes, etc. That is one of many reasons I
will never recommend those products.

Its part of the stubborness of how Apple develops its software I guess. You
could give this a try I guess, Open Control Panel > QuickTime (in the drop
down box select "Browser Plug-in" > uncheck "QuickTime system tray icon" and
see if it goes away for good.
