software compatibility

Hi all,
I have a new laptop with xp home on it. I am trying to
install a program that I need for work. This program
controls a logic controller through a com port. Anyway, I
get half way through the install of the prog and a window
pops up saying I need windows nt 4.0 service pack 4. I
would like to know if there is a service pack or
equivilent patvh that will allow me to run this prog.
This prog will run fine on 98 or 2000.

The program misidentified XP as NT 4. XP is based on 2000, which was based
on NT.

You could try to install, and run, this utility using the Compatibility
modes.
