Soft Hyphen in Powerpoint 2007

Is there any chance to use a soft hyphen in Powerpoint 2007, i.e. a hyphen
that will only be shown when there is the need for a line break? The
Unicode-Character (00AD) does not seem to work - in fact, it behaves like the
contrary, a non-breaking hyphen (2011) which is not part of WGL4.

Yes, unfortunately it still doesn't. But I hoped that it could at least
handle manually set soft hyphens? So that you don't have to run through your
whole presentation inserting and deleting hyphens as soon as you edit text or
change fonts or something.

Yes, unfortunately it still does not! But I hoped it could at least correctly
handle *manually set* soft hyphens? To me it seems, as I said, that it even
treats soft hyphens as hard, non-breaking hyphens??

Sorry. PPT doesn't do automatic hyphenation, nor does it handle manually set
soft hyphens. If you add hyphens, they are treated as hard, non-breaking
hyphens -- which means that you have to go in and manually change them when
you change font size or face.

I know, it sucks.

Ok, thanks very much.

Yes, there is (at least now): type in ALT+0173 and a soft hyphen will be inserted that will only be shown when a line break is necessary.
