Soem Sites Cause Images To Be Disabled

There are some sites that I have visited that cause all
images to be disabled. Internet Explorer 6 will attempt
to load images on that page and all subsequent ones for a
while then just give up. All other instances of IE will
load images as before, but in that window even offline
images will not show. It seems to happen when IE attempts
to load a specific image (other images on that page will
load, and then after a certain point no other images at
all will load). So far it has happened on a few
Friendster pages and, the Too Pure website (toopure.com).
None others.

As I say, all websites from that point on are effected,
included websites entirely contained on the hard drive.

Any help?

This may be Ad-blocking software that you have installed on your computer or
it may be a thing called your HOSTS file. The Ad-blocking software would
stop images that have a name with specified words in them (such as 'ad' or
'pay-per-click') from being viewed in your browser. The HOSTS file contains
the web addresses of known popup and Ad sites (such as pay-per-click.com)
and this stops Internet Explorer from downloading images and pages from
those sites.
If you have ad-blocking software then you can turn it off or un-install it
to see the images (most probably just ads) on your pages. If you have a
HOSTS file then you can try searching for it (search for 'HOSTS' , no file
extension) and then deleting it. Restart IE for the changes to take effect.

It is my opinion that there IS a bug in IE 6.0 that fails to recognize
that an image is not FULLY loaded. This happens randomly on certains sites,
and
if the cache file for this image is deleted, then the image can be loaded
again correctly.

It is related to the load of the line, happens mostly when something else
is using it (like a file transfer).

Thinking about it, it may be happening only when the frame only contains
a picture (like ww.xx.com\picture1.jpg)
