Snappy/Cracky/Poppy Audio Issues

Well the title basically sums up the problem; my sound is extremely cracky
and is making all this snapping and popping noises while playing music in
Windows Media Player 11. This issue is occuring to me right now in RC1; I do
realize RC1 came out a long time ago but I was never able to test Vista on
this computer upto now due to I had no extra HDs around my house and my HDs
were all full/in use. This issue occured also in another earlier Beta but I
just gave up fixing it.

This is a Onboard Sound Card might I add. The board in my computer is a
"Nvidia nForce 420D" (AC97 audio) and in the Device Manager it appears as
these devices:
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) Audio Codec Interface
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) MCP Audio Processing Unit
NVIDIA(R) nForce(TM) MIDI UART

The drivers it is using are found at
http://www.nzone.com/object/nzone_downloads_rel70betadriver.html under
"nForce Windows Vista RC1 Drivers" (x86).

It is in a Hp Pavilion 761n and these are the BASE specs for it:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...3&lang=en&lc=en&cc=ca&dlc=en&docname=bph07376
(It does support Vista due to I have upgraded the Video Card, added more
Memory, added a DVD+RW, Added a TV Tuner and a couple other upgrades).

And just as a sample, this is what it sounds like while playing music:

Thanks in advance guys, hopefully you can solve this issue! :p

Just tried RC2 for kicks; it seems a bit better but it does jitter somewhat.
It's actually livable though in RC2 I find (Well at the moment, might get
worse :p).

Okay guys, I can confirm that it does this in Windows Vista RC1, RC2 and RTM
on my computer.

I think I'm gonna have to get a new soundcard to replace my onboard sound
card (grrrr)

I don't have that option in my properties menu :S . I have everything from
"16 bit, 8000 Hz (Telephone Quality)" to "16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality)" and
nothing sounds better :(
