Smartphone/Outlook question - inbox folders

My CEO likes to create folders within his Outlook 2003 inbox and then create
Rules to move incoming emails into specific folders.

Unfortunately for me, he also uses a smartphone to sync his email on a
realtime basis (Verizon wireless sync using a MotorolaQ). This method only
sends the contents of the root of his inbox to the phone and does not include
any of the folders that are within the inbox.

Does anyone know of a smartphone and 3rd party software that will sync the
entire inbox including subfolders to the phone in realtime?

So you are doing a local sync via ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device
Center? Then you can indeed sync only the main folder.

If you use Exchange you can also omit the local Outlook client and have the
SmarthPhone connect directly to the Exchange server.

Verizon has a local sync client that you run while Outlook is open. As you
receive email, this client sends a copy up to one of their servers which then
sends it down to the phone with only a minimal delay. We don't even connect
the phone to the PC at all.

The tip on pointing the phone directly to the Exchange server sounds
promising. Is there any documentation out there on doing this or is it based

Yes, it depends on your version of Exchange and indeed which phone you use.
