Slow WiFi Network on XP SP2

N

Nick McNally

Hi,

I have three PCs in a wireless network. The ICS host is
XP Home SP2 and the other desktop PC is Win98. The
notebook PC is also XP Home SP2. The problem is that the
connection between the two XP computers seems to be very
slow especially when browsing the "My Network Places". A
blank screen appears followed by a torch icon scanning a
folder. This happens to both of the XP computers.
Everything seems to hang and sometimes a reboot is the
only recourse.

However, the Win 98 PC does not suffer this problem at
all and shows the contents of the Network Neighbourhood
immediately it is clicked.

Also, the wireless cards in the two XP machines are not
recognised as a wireless network in the Network
Conncetions folder and I understand this may have
something to do with WZC.

Please, any ideas.

Many Thanks.
