slow to connect to network

I have a rather complex questions that requires some context...I'm running XP
Pro SP2 on a custom computer...I had a major catastrophe and did a re-install
using Drive Image and then a reinstall of the OS. Everything works fine with
the exception of my computer connecting to the network...I've checked out all
of the network stuff (router is fine--other computers can connect) and LAN
settings--even removing the entire network stack and reinstalling the
stack...the are some weird things that relate to the network, such as I can
check email using Outlook even though the computer has not logged onto the
network...it can my computer anywhere from 10-30 minutes to mysterously
connect to the network...until the connection occurs, I cannot access the
Internet, other computers on the network, and so forth.

The other weired part of this if I hit ctrl, alt, del and go to the Users
tab, it will be blank until my computer connects to the network and then it
will show the computer name and user...likewise, by clicking on the processes
tab, the user name (system, local service, etc) will be blank until the
computer connects to the network.

I've also done some additional research on this...when I check the XP error
log, I get the following errors:

Thursday, September 01, 2005 Service Control Manager The Message Queuing
service hung on starting.

Thursday, September 01, 2005 Service Control Manager The Message Queuing
Triggers service depends on the Message Queuing service which failed to start
because of the following error: After starting, the service hung in a
start-pending state.

I've looked up message queuing, but have been unable to find many solutions
for it. I'd like to think, surely, there must be some driver or dll that's
corrupted...it's just a matter of finding out which one...

Honestly, any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Dave,I think you should format and re-install. I had similar problems
yesterday after I used ghost to ghost over a drive and I have used Ghost
numerous times successfully. I ended up formatting and re-installing and my
problems went away.
