slow computer Cpu usage?

My computer seems to be running something all the time and is causing slow
downs. When I click on a box to close it, it melts away sometimes and I have
trouble shutting things down. I get the not responding window and still cant
shut it down with windows task manager. When I go to the Processes screen is
shows System Idle Process at 80 to 97 cpu's every thing else is maybe 00 to
03. Not sure if this is the cause of the slow down. Also slow loading when
reboot, I have plenty of updated spyware and virus protection so I don't
think thats the problem.

Saying that you have "plenty of updated spyware and virus protection"
doesn't tell me what you have and how you scanned. Review the general
malware removal steps at the link below and if you didn't follow
similar procedures, it would be a good idea to go through the steps.

If you are sure the machine is clean, do clean-boot troubleshooting and
you might also want to take a look at the shutdown troubleshooter (last
link):

"System Idle Process" is never any problem at all. That's just the name for
what the system is doing when it's not doing anything. It's there to make
the total add up to 100%

Also slow loading
when reboot, I have plenty of updated spyware and virus protection so
I don't think thats the problem.

The phrase "plenty of updated spyware and virus protection" doesn't mean
anything unless you are specific as to exactly what you are using.
Unexplained slowdowns are most often because of malware these days, and
there's a good chance that that's your problem. I see that Malke already
recommended her web page
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware and that's a
very good resource. I second her recommendation that you follow the steps
there.
